Happy Thursday, friends! Today we just wanted to take a moment to share how thankful we are for our community. We’re located in Raleigh, North Carolina and there is such a wonderful & supportive creative community here. Plus Durham, NC is right down the road, so we basically get two great creative communities in one! And each of these cities has their own feel to them. Talk about a win-win.
Southern Living just named their top cities in the South and Raleigh-Durham was listed at #8!
If you haven’t heard of The Rising Tide Society and their local Tuesdays Together meetings, go check them out now. Natalie Franke, the founder, is a photographer, educator, and speaker. The Rising Tide Society started with the premise of #communityovercompetition. They focus on bringing entrepreneurs together and creating community locally. They have Tuesdays Together meetings once a month, on Tuesdays (shocker, right?). We’re so thankful that there is both a Raleigh chapter and a newly formed Durham chapter.
The Raleigh chapter is led by the sweet and wonderful, Sarah Shumay from Sweet Sarabelle. The Durham chapter is led by the talented and creative, Radhika McDiarmid from Radian Photography.

Community over competition in action.
We were fortunate to meet some of my first, true business connections at these meetings including Erin McCauley from Chestnut and Vine, Stephanie Cisko from Viva L’Event, Amanda Honeycutt from Amanda Blair by Design, Cheryl Kast from Kast Events, and Aimee Flynn and Yvette Navarro from The Parlour at Manns Chapel. All of these wonderful ladies have become great friends and a wonderful support system for us, which we are so grateful.
We’ve been so luck (and so thankful) to have a chance to collaborate with so many creatives. The photo above was from The School of Styling Summer Bash here in Raleigh. The wedding industry can often be a competitive industry, but we’re so grateful for all the creatives in the area that have collaborated with us along the way! I mean just take a look at some of the photos below. The first two photos are by Megan Kerns Photography and the last is by Blue Barn Photography.
Do you see what each of these photos have in common? They all involve gathering around the table (our Cottage Luxe Signature Farm Table, no less).
